Leafy Greens
August 25, 2008
“Shouldn’t removing animal products that clog your intestines, litter your blood with undigested protein, and pollute your bodily fluids with acidity and toxins be enough to create optimal health? As I found out, the answer is No.
“[...O]ur closest relative, the chimp (who share 99.4% of their genes with humans), naturally eats a raw diet of 50% whole fruit, 40-45% leafy greens and 5% bark, pith and insects. There are no whole grains, pastas, soy cheeses or fruit juices in their diet. That’s basically half their food from leafy greens!”

Got something to say?

This is the type of diet that the Hunza tribe of people ( from the Himalaya Mountains) eat.
They are noted for they’re longevity, healthy glowing skin and peaceful nature. I’m not a sociology major = )….I had heard of these people before, but have recently learned more as I am carrying a meal replacement powder called “Hunza Meal” at my business. It contains whole, organic and sprouted foods ( the variety gleaned from studies of the Hunza diet) that have been freeze dried and powdered. Yes, fresh is always better, but this supplement is phenominal for busy people, or those who don’t have access to the best selection of whole and fresh foods. On the down side I once joined our local vegan support group for a buffet meal of only veggies, fruits and greens. We paid a decent price at this restaurant and and despite the fact that the buffet was “all you can eat” we still felt very hungry when we left. Refused to stop for any thing fast and defeat the purpose, but by breakfast I was famished ha ha…..It didn’t hurt me however, dropping about 20 pounds wouldn’t hurt me a bit! Keep writing, Elaine. I enjoy your thoughts.
